I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment, work wasn't too complicated, no overtime or weekend work

    Cons

Old fashioned, low pay, not treated fairly by supervisor

I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and work/life balance. Cultural foundation is fantastic, but not always lived up to. Time off is another positive.

    Cons

There is no advancement, company leadership is 20 years behind. Employees have entitlement behavior instead of what is best for me vs. what is best for the company. Too much politics going on internally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get with the times and be more open to change. Embrace those that have experience outside the company and what they bring to the table instead of being stuck in the same rut for 35 years with employees that haven't worked anywhere else.

I have been working at American Cast Iron Pipe full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The people at the company are absolutely wonderful and never fail to make sure I have a great day. The pay is good, and profit sharing is a definite perk. On-site doctor, dentist, physical therapy, and wellness center are available. Safety and wellness of employees are a priority.

    Cons

Still have people hanging on to the mentality that "we've always done it this way and it's worked, so we shouldn't change," and that can really slow down forward momentum. The location isn't in the best part of town, and sketchy things happen to employees who come in and leave when it's dark outside.
