    Pros

CENX is a fast growing and exciting to work for. Since it's growing rapidly, it has lots of new opportunities available. Also, very new technology where standards are still being defined.

    Cons

The fact that the company is fast growing, processes are not very well defined. Depending on the type of individual, they may see it as an exciting place to work or stressful. In my opinion it's an exciting place to work.

I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance. Good salary. Good stability. It's a large company so I can't generalize but depending on which business unit you're working in you can be working with helpful and experienced peers and managers.

    Cons

Amdocs' business model is based on acquisitions:

So if you work in a company that gets acquired by Amdocs expect the following:

1- You will slowly but surely have your culture erased and replaced by the Amdocs culture. It's full of red tape and has many layers of bureaucracy. ETA until full culture erase is 3 year.
2- It's an Israeli based company so expect to have an irritating unprofessional army like upper management structure.
3- Only the flagship product will remain (reason for acquisition) all the other projects will be canned and the resources will be re-vectored to the flagship product.
4- If you're not in India, expect the R&D to slowly move to India. They will start by a small team in India and grow there.

This will lead to a stop to any creativity and/or new product development, and to a slow move to an Indian heavy R&D organization through normal attrition.

I recommend to calmly start looking for another job once the acquisition happens, unless you're comfortable with long term stagnation and the occasional unprofessional contact with people from other business units.

    Pros

Good training program; good chance for travelling; salary is based on region so generally pretty competitive

    Cons

Management will force all processes on you if they work or not; the culture of the acquired company is erased and the result is 'we are not us anymore, but we are not them either'; the initial presentation says they want a collaboration of cultures that really means understand the home-ship view and go with it. Rule 1: Mother-ship is always right. Rule 2: When mother-ship is wrong see rule 1.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't pretend to listen. Actions speak louder than words and in this case were deafening.

I have been working at Amdocs full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    1. Work-Life Balance is great: they really appreciate family and know how important it is
    2. Company has a clear conciese vision and goals set forth
    3. Even though we are growing there is little growing pains and there are always plans laid out to move forward with the growth
    4. Middle and Upper Management are both easy to get along with and talk to on a continuing basis

    Cons

    1. Comminication from the top down can be delayed as in most large multi country companies. This is expected but ussually gets correct message across.

I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Lot of travel opportunities, and they treat you very well when travelling. Most senior people are very good at what they do and helpful too. If you are good you will get recognized quickly - very little office politics here.

    Cons

Spend a few years here and you can bid good-bye to any technical skills you had. You will end up with good knowledge about Amdocs products but little else. This is fine if you want to stay in the Telecom software field, not so much if you want to become an expert in Java/J2EE etc.
The other good things about Amdocs seem to be coming to an end with most work being sent to their India center which I have heard works pretty much like any other Indian company - most new hires are fresh out of college with no technical skills. Even the ones who are hired with 4-5 years experience can barely write 10 lines of code without consulting the internet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your hiring practices, quality always trumps quantity in the end.

I have been working at Amdocs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great for those who are starting their career.
Gets to learn a lot of things technically and also professionally.
Good to work for 4-5 yrs.
    Compensation is great.

    Cons

Learning curve reduces exponential as you work more. You will do the same thing over and over again. And getting more and more responsibilities (but same or similar).
There is no opportunity to grow professional.
    No Promotions (or almost none).
You reach a saturation point where you don't know what you are really good at in a global scenario.
You can never compete with anyone outside Amdocs, because you don't know anything else.
