Current Employee – been working at Amdocs full-time for more than 7 years

ProsFlexibility in work hours; able to telecommute; benefits are good; competitive salary; additional perks such as food rooms, benefits toward health programs such as weight watchers.

ConsAlot of work which requires greater than a normal 9 hour workday on average; more than fair sick leave hours for employees/family, but would prefer if more of the time off was dedicated to vacation time since I do not really take sick days.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind an alternative to the current performance feedback system so that people who work hard feel their rating accurately reflects their performance.

Current Employee – been working at Amdocs for more than 3 years

ProsBig, successful, growing, and profitable company.
Previous successes in the company open doors for unrelated opportunities in different countries, functions and domains.
Many good people, hard working.

ConsIsraeli, highly political and bureaucratic, military-like, ranks/bands (not talent or opinion) are most important.
Care, respect and accountability are mostly poster slogans.

Advice to Senior ManagementPractice what you preach. Get rid of politicians and judge by performance and merit.

Current Employee – been working at Amdocs full-time for more than 8 years

ProsWas once a decent company to work for that gave something to its customers and nested in its employees growth and well being. If you're lucky you'll have some decent colleagues to share your frustrations at the top heavy, thick headed management structures , stifling bureaucracy and completely insane lack of budget to really enable you do you work well.

ConsEmployees are like furniture or equipment. Use them without consideration for their humanity and then throws them away when they break. Talks big about values and employee care but doesn't stand behind that. Run by a bunch of cronies who look out for each other and screw the rest of you,,,

Advice to Senior ManagementPut money towards things that matter, ie people... you have to spend some money to earn some more. Cutting and cutting to keep showing a profit every quarter will eventually leave you with nothing and no way to earn anything anymore,,, stop rushing towards the cliff of unsustainable constant budget cuts and invest in growth.

ProsThey pay money. I like money. Since I've been there a long time it's fairly comfortable.. they do all the usual benefits, and some managers make an effort to try and keep people happy.

ConsThere seems to be a biannual rotation of senior managers who don't seem bothered with what the division does. Actually getting new development approved is near impossible unless a customer has already signed up money for it, so you are always behind the curve. Cost cutting on things like hardware is just insane. There is a management emphasis on working weekends even when there is no work to do, it just seems like a reflex. There is zero sense of direction or development, there is no desire to be the best or take on competitors from the management, presumably because these things are not in their control.

Promotions are slightly less frequent than blue moons.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop acting like cowards and show some actual vision.,

Pune (India)

Former Employee – worked at Amdocs full-time for more than 3 years

ProsIt keeps you happy
You will find maximum percentage of ppl who have stayed for more than 3 or may be 5 years
You can get shortterm onsites (if you are not in really bad project/line), this is good for freshers but if you are looking for long term onsite after exp of around 3 years the chance will be very less compared to other service based companies. So it is a bargain deal and you have to decide what you want

ConsThere are lot of ppl with 5 years exp and working as developers so going up the ladder can be difficult
Long term onsite is rare
AMdocs is best in telecom domain but once you have telecom domain expertise wwhere will you go.. you cant go to Tech Mahindra as they wont be able to give you hike.. So option are less in telecom damain and in all probability you will have to change the domain while switching

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you compare the salaries with service based companies then you should give the long term onsite also
