I have been working at Allianz full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Trainig was good for starting out in the industry. Most the staff was friendly until you get to management.

    Cons

Much of a 'who you know' culture. Systems were horrible and pay was below industry average.

I have been working at Allianz full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Large company, mobility inside the group is guaranteed. Managers are willing to listen to the employees. Company values are well expressed.
Allianz employees have access to a wide range of benefits.

    Cons

The internal bureaucratic procedures can be tiring and can slow down fast actions: being a large and old company, some functions could be redesigned.
Work-life balance is fair but fluctuates pretty heavily according to deadlines.

    Pros

Multicultural working environment; many different departments and businesses offer the chance to change job within company and have very broad view on industry; family -friendly company; good work-life balance; very competent employees; very competent senior management

    Cons

Sometimes politics stands in the way of common sense; middle management is weak

I have been working at Allianz full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, good work-life balance, great for individuals with families, good 401(k) match - the best I received from anywhere else, telecommute, low pressure, onsite gym,

    Cons

Not great for single individuals because the benefits are more crafted for individuals with families, heavily outsourced, minimal learning opportunities, process heavy, compensation not competitive with market, lack of fresh ideas

I worked at Allianz as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

I worked in the Shanghai office of the General Insurance business of Allianz. It was a unique experience - Allianz is undoubtedly one of the biggest insurers in the world, but Shanghai office is new and growing. It gave me a unique entrepreneurial experience in a major global firm. I enjoyed the exposure to both sides.

    Cons

I got the internship through family connection, so it was not a formal internship program. As a result, the internship was not very structured. I didn't feel fully challenged during the internship. However, my direct manager went a long way to ensure that I was doing well. That guidance and attention was helpful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can't think of anything in particular

    Pros

    -Clean Office
    -Access to on-site gymnasium.
    -Professional environment
    -Great HR department.

    Cons

-low pay, company focuses on looks (building, image), not employee salary.
-more bureaucratic than my previous role in government.
-Micromanagement is incredibly huge component of company structure and roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train employees and allow them to be empowered in their roles, instead of making them struggle through constant feedback and inconsistent work processes.

I worked at Allianz full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible shifts, good pay, good benefits.

    Cons

Management promotions based not on performance or experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You consolidated, yet stuck with lease on empty floor space, the closed center had best record for processing and time and many are still out of work due to your closure. We were lied to over and over even when asked directly about the future of our positions. You had the most experienced, dedicated staff in the closed center.
