Pros – This is an amazing company to work at. Assisted living is a very challenging environment and requires not only business savvy but compassion and dedication. Aegis has it all-from the corporate level right through to the nurses and care managers. Culture and respect are heavily emphasized and everyone feels a commitment to do their best.
Cons – The challenging economic environment puts a lot of pressure on all of us financially. We are trying our best to continually improve our are already excellent care and our communities, while at the same time meeting our financial responsibilities.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to everyone in and outside corporate. Think creatively. Always keep the interests of the residents, families and employees in mind, and empower them.

I have been working at Aegis Living full-time for less than a year
Pros – During my 23 year career, I have never worked for an organization that values the lives of its employees like Aegis. The work environment is challenging, exciting, collaberative, positive, and feels like family. The team ensembled here is nothing less than stellar, and the leadership is the strongest I have ever been associated with. I truly respect all of my colleagues, not only for their work ethic, but for their passion toward this organization and life itself. And it all starts with Dwayne Clark and the remarkable vision he has for this company.
Cons – The pains that come with a company experiencing major growth, but I would rather call them challenges and opportunities, than cons.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to listen and trust those team members around you. Keep sharing your vision of success and growth with your employees. We are here because we believe in this company and what it stands for.

I have been working at Aegis Living full-time for less than a year
Pros – Aegis offers an environment where I can share my expertise, be appreciated for what I have to offer, and develop new processes and procedures that will benefit the company. The people at Aegis care about what we do: we know we impact the lives of others, and we don't take that lightly.
Cons – There is enough work for there to be three of me...
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to check in with your employees & listen to what they say. Continue to provide an environment for them to be open without fear of repercussion. Help develop a better retirement for employees via a 401K program for employees with company match of funds.

I have been working at Aegis Living full-time for less than a year
Pros – Ranked one the best places to work for in Washington. People here have a real connection and it shows in making a difference in every moment with every person they come in contact with. It is so important that we take care of our aging population and Aegis is just that place and the people here are what makes it possible. From the care givers, culinary staff, nurses and management, each person pitches in to ensure residents, families and staff are really taken care of in this rich and rewarding environment.
Cons – Fast paced and changing, not necessarily a bad thing. To work here you must be able to adapt and contribute on many levels.

I have been working at Aegis Living full-time for more than a year
Pros – The work environment is such a positive experience. We have a fun committee that helps ease the stress that comes with life. The staff works together like a family throughout the whole company. We can be hundreds of miles away and still work like a dream team.
I have worked with many companies, including the military. This is by far my favorite and most rewarding job I have ever had.
The executive team are not just shadows or flies on the wall, they have a presence in the work place. This is very important to myself and the company.
Cons – There are always some downsides to working at a company; whether it is your salary rate or too much stress. I can say without a doubt that this company, according my personal opinion, is doing a great job with supporting it's employees through compensation, benefits and fun activities that bring everyone together.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice to upper management would be to continue the great work. The biggest thing for me personally is communication, which they are doing a great job as it is.

I have been working at Aegis Living full-time
Pros – Culture is everything at Aegis. It is so refreshing to work for a company where the Executive Leadership believes in transparency, communication and ethics. It's a hard job to operate communities who care for those suffering from the disease of dementia, but the company culture recognizes this and rewards it's employees in so many ways. At the core of this company is Respect. In every interaction, there is such a level of Respect exhibited and I feel this is what makes it such a great company to work for. Without a doubt the best career decision I ever made. I have great pride in calling this company home for my career.
Cons – If there are any, it is managing the growth of the company right now and all the changes taking place. Keep in mind, this is also a positive, but at this moment in time, for the company it is going through a lot of growth. My belief though, is the culture of the company is too important to our CEO and the Leadership Team that it will not be sacrificed in any way with our robust growth over the next few years.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the transparency, respect, compassion and ethical approach which has gotten you this far. In addition, don't lose the push for creative thought and your willingness to "do things different".
