Former Employee – worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – AT&T Canada now Allstream is a big Canadian company but have a small-company culture: I found the organization to be a well managed and very professional. They should pride themselves as being a open, friendly, honest and easy to deal with organization. Extremely high talented people- centric and deliver exceptional and innovative solutions.
Cons – Excellent company to work with.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – great benefits and salaries, room for advancement and relocation. easy to maintain life outside of work, and normal hours. never had to worry about pay or bonuses.
Cons – very political, and people not wanting to go above and beyond for fear of going outside the box. very slow to change or admit the need for change
Advice to Senior Management – need to evolve out of the 20th century. Also worry less about their own backs and more about each others.

Former Employee – worked at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – It was a pretty decent job because they were the only company to have the Iphone at the time. I worked in a busy location so the commission was good, but its alot harder at smaller locations
Cons – They continually change the commission structure and goals to make it more difficult to cap out. Too many morning meetings
Advice to Senior Management – Micro-managing employees to death does not help sales numbers, following through on discounts and credits promised to customers would help churn though

Former Employee – worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good pay if you are able to negotiate a good salary on the front end. Good benefits.
Cons – The company has made most sellers in most segments "universal sellers". Achieving objectives is difficult with numerous "buckets" to hit. AT&T has a HUGE portfolio and you'll learn just enough to hurt yourself -- expect a significant learning curve for wireline products. Compensation systems leave much to be desired. Disputing your commission will result in you chasing your tail indefinitely and you will likely not have a favorable resolution.
Advice to Senior Management – Since you can't really affect change (as a 2nd or even 3rd) level manager do what you can toward "job enrichment". Encourage employees to take advantage of all company endorsed training initiatives -- even those not related to sales or the products they sell. Remember career development isn't limited to development within YOUR organization. Encourage and support employees exploring outside their existing organization for opportunities.

Current Employee – been working at AT&T part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Decent salary, hourly rate double min. wage
Free cellphone + service
Generous vacation allowance
Various sales incentives
Strong union representation (Non-management employes only)
Cons – Commission not what it used to be, they constantly "revise" commission structure
Extended hours (I work part time and still manage 35 hours/week)
Number based company, where it should be people oriented
Tremendous stress on meeting sale quotas each month on sales reps / managers
Having to practically push products down our customer's throat, when they only came to upgrade
It seems, as time goes on, that sells way more products while being paid less!
Extreme micromanaging!
Going away from sale counters is not the right move, I've already heard numerous complains
Advice to Senior Management – Less boardroom people, who never stepped foot on a retail floor, telling us how to service customers best!
