Pros – On the staff level, many people are devoted and committed to assisting those in need within the immediate community surrounding the organization.
Cons – Lack of identified organizational chart (who really makes the decisions) hired as a direct report but actually answered to many, at the top executive level conflicting ideas of what is the vision/mission, hostile work environment, lack of basic systems, employs motivated by fear, company rules and guidelines do not apply to all, subtle discriminatory attitude at the top level, lack of diversity at the management level. Very disappointing experience.
Advice to Senior Management – Review the organization's culture, mission and vision. Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, update systems, embrace change, address the organization's culture of cronyism, fear and ineffectiveness.

Pros – Many mid- and lower-level staff members are extremely dedicated to the important work of this organization but hampered by poor infrastructure and lack of respect.
Cons – Upper management is heirarchical -- dominated by special interests and huge egos that eclipse this organization's potential to do some really good work
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage creative thinking; cultivate talent and develop a culture that appreciate and encourages staff

“Great experience but there is also a great deal of cronisim to stay and get ahead with the company”
Pros – great opportunity to work and contribute to the company. Meet people from all over the metro-Detroit area and beyond.
Cons – With the Community Health & Research Center employment is very selective and often times plays favorites with who stays employed. Potential for growth is limited.
Pros – Warm passionate people, doing great work. Great reputation in the community and at the cutting edge of many programs and initiatives.
Cons – Each department has its own culture and some are less warm than others. Some programs receive less funding than others.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide more training and support for young talented staff that are willing to work hard and grow. It's important to retain young talent!
