I have been working at Valley Health System full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

They have a good reputation locally within the community for providing good health care mostly attributable to the physicians and nurses rather than management. This good reputation suggests they will continue on for a while and the atmosphere is pretty decent in the organization. Facilities generally are clean and well maintained.

    Cons

For a "not-for-profit" the company appears overly concerned about money making and squeezing profit out of everything. They are alos heavy on management perks especially as one ascends higher (I think their salaries at the very top were so high at one time that their not for profit status became at risk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward the producers who are doing most of the work and or building the positive reputation of the organization through their excellent service. Were management to take the time to recognize the individuals within their organization who are making the most positive difference it would help the organization a lot. This probably is advice however for a lot of organizations.
