I worked at University of Wyoming

    Pros

Really great benefits and chance to experience Division 1 athletics, world-class arts and wonderful people.

    Cons

Really depends on your manager. Need a better system to get rid of bad apples.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold your leadership more accountable. Get rid of troublesome AVPs that are only concerned about themselves. Recognize and retain good talent.

    Interview Details

As with most academic position, submitted a application package prior to the posted deadline. Was contacted about four weeks later to schedule a phone interview. Was invited for a 3 day visit/interview. Was flown into Denver which is a two hour drive from Laramie. Picked up by a potential faculty member. While the formal interview doesn't start until you're on campus, expect lots of questions during the long drive from and back to the airport.

For folks who live in Wyoming, the University of Wyoming (UW) is it -- the only place offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees, as well as research and outreach services that stretch across the state. The main campus is in Laramie, but the school also has a campus in Casper, plus nine outreach education centers and 24 Cooperative Extension Service centers (located in each county and on the Wind River Reservation). Founded in 1887, UW has grown to serve more than 13,000 students with 180 programs of study and it still Wyoming's #1 institution for higher learning.
