Twitter – Why Work For Us?

Twitter helps you create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.

Our company culture directly aligns with its purpose as a platform — a place for discovery, self-expression and human connection. At Twitter, we have created an environment where people are actually encouraged to bring their authentic selves and their passions to work.

Once here, our employees have a myriad of opportunities to grow new skills and deepen those they already possess. Above all, we have created a place where employees come together as empowered individuals for the strength of the collective.

As a product, Twitter brings you closer to others. As an employer, Twitter does the same. We often hear employees say, “I joined Twitter, and I joined a family.”

Every year, students and new grads have an impact on our company. Our Engineering team is aggressively hiring undergrad, masters and PhD students for full-time positions and summer internships.

“When I started, I had very little real-world experience—I’d never coded professionally before—so, I was really excited and really nervous... On my third day at work, I got to see the President of Russia... A few weeks later, Kanye West (@ kanyewest) ’dropped by’ for lunch.”

My Awesome Summer Internship at Twitter by Siddarth Chandrasekaran

“Twitter doesn't just hire great engineers, it hires great people. It goes without saying you'll work with amazing engineers; the real joy is working with people who are hilarious, fantastically interesting, and generous with their time and teaching.

I have been working at Twitter full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great co-workers. A global organization that feels local in regional markets. Management that inspires you to do your best while providing autonomy. Senior management is extremely transparent. An overall great corporate culture that also provides great benefits to its staff.

    Cons

Growing pains that come along with any rapidly growing business. The company is getting very large, which can make it hard for new employees to navigate. That said, Im sure the organization will come out of this phase of its development better than most and continue to be an amazing place to work.
