Twitter – Why Work For Us?

Twitter helps you create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.

Our company culture directly aligns with its purpose as a platform — a place for discovery, self-expression and human connection. At Twitter, we have created an environment where people are actually encouraged to bring their authentic selves and their passions to work.

Once here, our employees have a myriad of opportunities to grow new skills and deepen those they already possess. Above all, we have created a place where employees come together as empowered individuals for the strength of the collective.

As a product, Twitter brings you closer to others. As an employer, Twitter does the same. We often hear employees say, “I joined Twitter, and I joined a family.”

“When I started, I had very little real-world experience—I’d never coded professionally before—so, I was really excited and really nervous... On my third day at work, I got to see the President of Russia... A few weeks later, Kanye West (@ kanyewest) ’dropped by’ for lunch.”

My Awesome Summer Internship at Twitter by Siddarth Chandrasekaran

“Twitter doesn't just hire great engineers, it hires great people. It goes without saying you'll work with amazing engineers; the real joy is working with people who are hilarious, fantastically interesting, and generous with their time and teaching.

You work with a platform that is connecting people everyday to the world, letting voices be heard, sparking revolutions and democratising the world at large. If that doesn't motivate you - chances are very few things will :)

The culture is empowering - You are the master of what you want to create here and the company stands behind you for support.

Leadership is very transparent and approachable. I've worked in two big global companies before and the level of transparency here is my favourite thing.

We're still figuring some things out so things are constantly evolving. If that's not something someone is comfortable with then I can see how that might be a problem for them.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeksinterviewed at Twitter in December 2014.

Talked to university recruiter to set up interview, went through 2 phone interviews before being declined. Took about 3 weeks after each interview for follow up. Interviewers were nice and very talkative. Interview format: Talk about your background, one technical question, why do you want to work at twitter, questions for the interviewer.
