I worked at TransCanada as a contractor (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good vacation and good benefits

    Cons

Incompetent people are promoted to management by the incompetent manager. There are some incompetent managers in IS and they are close together. I don't understand why they get to fire other people. Some people didn't work much at all because of their close relationship to the managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sort out incompetent managers in IS and let people who know what they are doing do the work.

TransCanada is getting back to the basics: gas transmission and power generation. Through TransCanada PipeLines and other subsidiaries, it wholly owns more than 37,000 miles (and partially owns 5,500 miles) of natural gas pipeline; its six pipelines link the Western Sedimentary Basin to markets in six Canadian provinces and 17 US states. The company also owns a major oil pipeline (Keystone) and stakes in several other gas pipelines in the US, Canada, and Mexico. TransCanada has 380 billion cu. ft. of natural gas storage assets.
