I worked at Systemax full-time for more than a yearPros
Great work colleagues, who are more than willing to pull together.Cons
Entropic management systems, upward feedback is neither encouraged, asked for, or listened to.
Communication, management issue decrees and do not foster an inclusive team.
Archaic processes and procedures.
No communication of expectations, appraisal process is a joke.
No training plans, no encouragement to advance knowledge.
Ideas plagiarised by management for their own advancement.
The organisation is not mature enough to realise, that the 'quiet teams' are more productive, than the teams that are shouting and 'fire fighting' problems of their own making (lean six sigma).Advice to ManagementAdvice
Management need to learn to be leaders and not bosses. Quote: YOU don't build a business. YOU build people and then PEOPLE build the business.
Implement a robust appraisal system, with definitive objectives and a training plan to help employees achieve them.
Communicate the company strategy and adhere to the stated company values.Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEO
