A Modern Day Tale of Innovation
The Sandvine story begins in June 2001 in Waterloo, Ontario; a thriving community and technology hub an hour West of Toronto. Named in 2007 as the World’s Top Intelligent Community for prosperity rooted in broadband and information technology, Waterloo overcame a declining economy and fostered a culture of learning, spawning a climate of growth in the region which now boasts a tech cluster of nearly 1,000 companies.
This success was earned due—in no small part—to the University of Waterloo. Built on a foundation of science, engineering and math, a globally recognized cooperative education program, and a progressive intellectual property policy, the University of Waterloo has paved the way for many successful technology start-ups in the region. Waterloo is also home to two other leading schools: Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College.
Emboldened by Cisco’s historic acquisition of start-up PixStream in December of 2000, the Sandvine founding team was afforded a unique opportunity and the timing was right. Sandvine opened its doors on June 11, 2001, and despite grim statistics of start-up failures at the time, adapted to market needs, thanks to a series of industry firsts.
It is Sandvine's pioneering spirit that drives a continued focus on innovation. For the team of nearly 500 strong—spanning the globe and representing diverse cultures and interests—and a list of customers our competitors surely envy, it continues to be one exhilarating ride.

I have been working at Sandvine full-time (more than 5 years)RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEORecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
I have been at Sandvine for the past 6 years of my 14 year professional career, and I have no intention of leaving. At Sandvine I get to work with an extremely talented group of people, on a variety of interesting projects. People are friendly, helpful, and appreciative of your efforts here.
I have worked at a variety of different companies from startups to one that dwarfs Sandvine, and after a while you can get a sense or feel for how a company is performing, both in terms of the market, and towards their employees. In the six years I have been here at Sandvine, things have been getting better and better. These days, this place feels like all cylinders are firing and we've got great momentum. There is a palpable energy here that is only present at a company that is on a winning streak, and it feels good.
I decided to write this review because yesterday I was walking down the hall at Sandvine, and I spontaneously found myself thinking, "Man, I love my job." I'm feel lucky to be here during this exciting time.
We work hard at Sandvine, and sometimes you have to suck it up and put in the hours to get the job done. This may mean sacrificing personal/family time on occasion. If this is something you are uncomfortable with, this probably isn't the place for you.
I personally don't consider this a significant con though. You're going to have to work hard at some point during your tenure at any company. It's no different at Sandvine - what is different from many places, however, is that we celebrate our successes, effort is recognized, and employees are rewarded. If you are driven, Sandvine is a great place to show off your effort.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks – interviewed at Sandvine in February 2015.
Simply embarrassing for Sandvine. I reached out to the HR person who posted an opportunity on Linkedin she got back me pretty quickly to set up a first interview a couple of days later. When the time arrived, no one called. I emailed the HR person, who emailed me back much later the same day explaining she had been detained in meetings. She asked if we could reschedule - I agreed. I provided a few times I was available over the next few days and didn't hear from the HR person again until after all of those suggested times had passed. When she emailed me again, she apologized once more and asked for new possible times to chat. I again provided a few options - and the same thing happened again; no response until all of the possible times had lapsed. When the HR person emailed me again (once more apologizing and asking me for times to discuss the role), I responded by asking her to suggest a few times to me. I never got a response. Truly amateur experience.
