Career Development & Growth Opportunities
From your first day on the job you’ll be expected to learn, contribute and grow your career. We believe that to progress as a company, we must help each individual progress. Your performance is measured and rewarded on an ongoing basis through our innovative Development, Performance and Rewards (DPR) process. Goal setting, coaching and feedback are essential components of DPR. You’ll also find plenty of continuous professional growth and development through a variety of technical, professional and managerial seminars, conferences and continuing education.

Make Your Mark by Making a Difference
Twenty years from now, the earth’s population will need 55% more food than it can produce now. Today, Monsanto is working with farmers around the world to do something about it. Our investments in research have led to real advancements in agricultural technology that will lead to healthier, hardier crops for farmers around the world. At the same time we are reducing agriculture’s impact on the planet. At Monsanto you’ll be part of a sustainable company focused on reducing our environmental impact and promoting conservation.

Innovation
At Monsanto you’ll find a team-focused environment that thrives on innovation and encourages you to do extraordinary things. That’s because every day, we give you the chance to take novel approaches to timeless agricultural problems by investing over $1 billion in research and development every year. By incorporating cutting-edge technology and your experience, you’ll give farmers around the world the ability to grow more crops with less water. This is where your ideas could push the limits of agricultural technology and maybe even change the world.
Monsanto provides employees with a complete package of total rewards. At Monsanto, total rewards go beyond pay to include support for employees’ health and financial security, opportunities to grow and recognition for employees’ contributions.

Monsanto offers highly competitive pay and benefits around the world, excellent development opportunities and a great working environment. Our compensation and benefits philosophy is to provide competitive rewards to attract and retain the best talent and foster a sense of ownership in the company. Monsanto's annual incentive program is tied to performance of the company, your team, and you.

Employee benefits are an important part of our culture. We provide a wide range of benefits aimed at meeting the diverse needs of our employees around the globe. Benefit packages vary from country to country. For benefits information in countries other than the U.S., please consult local Monsanto Human Resources.

At Monsanto, diversity is not a program or initiative; it’s the way we do business and one of the keys to our success. To sustain and grow our business across all world areas, we require diverse business perspectives and the flexibility to work with a variety of people wherever we conduct business. Our work must reflect and respect the cultures, ideas and interests of all the consumers we serve and the communities we touch.

Monsanto's commitment to diversity is reflected prominently in two key components of  Our Pledge

Dialogue: We will listen carefully to diverse points of view and engage in thoughtful dialogue to broaden our understanding of issues in order to better address the needs and concerns of society and each other.

Respect: We will respect the religious, cultural and ethical concerns of people throughout the world

Our commitment to diversity also results in programs aimed at external audiences, such as supplier diversity, scholarships, university partnerships, and other key relationships with organizations such as the Consortium, United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Urban League, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Insight St. Louis, and Missouri Business Leadership Network (MOBLN).

With more than 20,000 employees across the globe, our people are the link between the workplace and the marketplace. We search for the brightest talent, regardless of geography, gender, skin color, age or disability.  To be successful at Monsanto, you are encouraged to build networks and relationships across every level of the company and across all geographies.

Recognizing that different members of the company have broad and varied needs, Monsanto supports a variety of  employee-organized and led diversity networks   -- African American; Asian; Hispanic; Women; Gay, Lesbian and Transgendered; Families; Veterans; and Differently Abled.

The networks’ mission is to further the professional development of their members so that they can make their fullest contribution to the achievement of our corporate goals and objectives. To help facilitate this and create dialogue between employees and senior management, all the networking groups have an Executive Team member as a sponsor.

Another key driver for diversity is the commitment of our senior leadership, from our CEO to the Executive Team and their direct reports. Thru the Monsanto Diversity Council, comprised of senior leaders from all functions, Monsanto develops more leaders to shape our culture of inclusion, and encourage the mentoring and recruiting of diversity champions at every level.

Our success depends on our strong ongoing efforts to attract, retain and develop talented employees with broad experiences and backgrounds that bring new and innovative ideas and viewpoints to our organization.

Monsanto is proud of our Winning Culture. It is based on several important norms:

  • Taking ownership of the company's success
  • Delivering the highest quality products and technology
  • Building strong relationships
  • Creating a great place to work
  • Conducting ourselves with integrity
Our culture is team oriented, non-hierarchical and entrepreneurial. It gives people a chance to make bigger, earlier and more frequent contributions than would be the case in many companies. For people who want to learn quickly and be given the opportunity to try new things on "live" projects, Monsanto is a great place to work. The degree to which we emphasize and encourage personal and group development is unusual in the business world. This is an integral part of our belief that how we work together and develop as people and as an organization is as important as what we produce.

    Application Details

I applied online – interviewed at Monsanto Company in August 2012.

    Interview Details

They started right a way with the interview questions without informal chatting. No much greetin or welcoming in the interview. It was more like an oral examination. Two people asked questions alternatively. There was no discussion but only answering the questions they asked and they took notes of what I was saying. However, since I was prepared well I face each and every question very well.
