    Pros

The university itself has some really nice and supportive employees.
The benefits are really good - retirement accounting matching above employee contribution, full tuition for any degree, other training opportunities, access to talks, library, etc.
Free shuttle from two metro stations.

    Cons

Not enough oversight of HR practices in individual departments. Some departments have terrible, indiscreet HR managers who should never be allowed to work in such positions, and make up their own rules that are contradictory to the university's general HR policy. The university is also highly conflict-averse and moves at a glacial pace when it comes to getting rid of undeniably problematic employees, which wastes the managers' time and energy.

    Advice to Management

Develop greater oversight of individual departments' HR practices and actually adhere to and follow through on your own written procedures for dealing with problem employees.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Georgetown University (Washington, DC (US)) in February 2015.

    Interview

Great, the questions were pretty basic and they explained the process to me in detail. We talked a lot about customer service and what it takes to do great in this position.
