An Amazing Place to Work

Here at Emeritus, an array of special elements come together to make this an incredible place to build a career for those who truly have a passion for service to seniors.

Family Helping Family

In addition to our dedication to treating our residents like family, we strive to treat one another with the same care and consideration. That’s why we’ve established the Emeritus Employee Fund, which offers emergency relief to our staff members in times of crisis. Our employees contribute to and benefit from the fund. We also allow employees to donate vacation time to co-workers in need.

Because we believe in fostering an environment of respect for all, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Our diverse staff reflects that of our resident community. We know that diversity of thought, experience, background, and perspective lends richness and contributes to a robust, healthy family atmosphere where all can grow and succeed.

Collaboration in All Things

Our Family Values truly are a reflection of how we treat our residents and one another. To further these beliefs, we’ve adopted the Collaborative Team Management model in which each discipline of our business is equally represented, respected, and heard. This innovative approach to collaboration in all elements of our business supports our commitment to fostering diverse perspectives while ensuring a more balanced approach to problem solving with open, honest communication. It’s all part of being a valued and respected member of our family.

Outstanding Achievements

We are proud to be recognized for our unique commitment to seniors, their families—and our staff. In 2011, the Puget Sound Business Journal named Emeritus one of Washington’s Best Workplaces. And in 2010, the Seattle Times and NWJobs.com named us the Northwest’s Best Healthcare Company for making a difference to our employees and making them want to come to work every day. You can witness our enthusiasm as we received our award at SAFECO Field in this fun video.

The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) also regularly recognizes us for numerous honors. In 2008, we received the “Best of the Best” award for our innovative Employee Commitment Conversations program. In this groundbreaking program, Emeritus senior managers visit our communities to meet with staff in an open forum. The goal: to hear first hand about issues that affect them and receive suggestions for enhancing employee and customer satisfaction.

Then, in 2009, we were awarded the “Best of the Best” award for our sales and marketing best practices as we launched our new brand identity. And in 2010 and 2011, our outstanding staff members have won a combined three Hero awards for rising above their daily duties to really make a difference in the lives of the residents in their care.

Committed Leadership

Our leaders are committed to transparency and effective communication. They collaborate with all the disciplines of the Emeritus family, striving to embody our Family Values by their own strong example. We believe that this ethic of honesty inspires and empowers our people to truly perform at their highest level, delivering the very best care for our residents. We encourage you to meet our senior management team to learn more about their experiences and perspectives.
