I worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center full-time (more than 10 years)

The only teaching hospital in our region with some of the best health care providers.

Management. There are more chiefs than Indians. They encourage employees to further their education (to climb the ladder of success). Once employees get their degree, they are offered management positions. With the shift in healthcare reform, you cannot afford to pay these power-hungry folks. Instead of thinning the heard of department heads, they go on witch hunts and push out the employees beneath them. They go after employees who have been there the longest (so that they can hire new people and pay them a fraction of the wages). What once was a wonderful place to work, has become a money hungry corporation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the insanity. Treat your employees well and they will do right by your company.

    Interview Details

It took several months to get a call for an interview. The interview process was in two stages. Once, with HR, just a simple overview and tentative offer. The second was with the head of the department. I had to pass a background check.
