    Objectives

    The objective of this position covers two categories, which are the following:

    · Design, Execution and Management of all Product Validation testing for (1) New Products, (2) Maintenance of existing products and (3) product defect root cause analysis ensuring product designs meet or exceed product performance specifications.

    · Execution and Management of applicable 3rd party laboratory testing including CE, CSA, UL, Mechanical and others 3rd party testing as required based on product requirements.

    Principle Duties & Responsibilities

    · Develop test plans and procedures for electronic systems ensuring product meet or exceed product performance specifications and functional requirements.

    · Perform system testing for acceptance, compliance, warranty and other types of validation as needed based on product requirements.

    · Interface with Hardware, Software and Mechanical Design teams ensuring product designs meet or exceed product performance requirements and functional requirements.

    · Maintain complete and accurate documentation for system testing including defect tracking to closure.

    · Analyze and troubleshoot test defects in a timely fashion and coordinate resolution with Hardware, Software and Mechanical Design team.

    · Develop test procedures and instructions for system testing processes.

    · Work with Hardware, Software and Mechanical Design team to plan and coordinate test activities.

    · Evaluate system performance and suggest improvements.

    · Understand and interpret drawings, schematics, layouts technical manuals/instructions and any other relevant design or product documentation needed to ensure product design meet product performance and functionality requirements.

    · Work with cross-functional teams to complete the assigned job duties within deadlines.

    · Recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency.

    · Design, implement, and maintain software applications using LabVIEW™

    · Provide support for production issues.

    Education, Training & Experience

    · BS or MS in Electronics, Electrical or Electrical & Computer engineering

    · 5-10 years of Electronic System Hardware and software validation testing

    · Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

    · National Instruments LabVIEW™ training would be considered a strong asset, but not mandatory.

    Skills and Competency Requirements

    · Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or LabVIEW.

    · Experience working with sensors including Humidity, Temperature and Gas detection would be considered an asset.

    · Strong understanding of electronics and electrical circuits including communication protocols: I2C, UART, SPI, TCP/IP, USB

    · Knowledge of ATE platforms and equipment, such as National Instruments LabVIEW™ and NI Hardware

    · Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical specifications.

    · Knowledge of digital and analog test techniques

    · Mentoring staff on test procedures, test development and best practices for product development.

    · Proficient in using test and measurement instruments.

    · Knowledge of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design and layout (Altium).

    · Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.

    · Proficiency in using test management tools (Test Rail) for test case management and reporting.

    · Knowledge of test HALT test methodologies would be an asset, but not mandatory.

    · Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work.

    · Possess proficient communication skills.
