The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent, and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs center, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.
Reporting to the Construction Support Office Manager, Systems Design Manager and Systems Technical Director, the Systems Construction Support Engineer is responsible for supporting Construction activities on BSCGP electrical (PS&D) systems. This role will include coordination with vendors and subcontractors for Project-compliant Design and construction process, deliverable, products, and material. The successful candidate will work with suppliers, subcontractors, and Engineer of Record (EOR) to expedite reviews, facilitating conflict and issue resolution. They are also expected to collaborate to resolve conflicts with other construction departments related to system designs.
Responsibilities:
- Act as point of contact for the Electrical (PS&D)/Systems design team, and Systems construction including vendor and subcontractor. Reply and following up to routine correspondence related to electrical and systems project work.
- Monitor and coordinate Systems design submittal from supplier and subcontractor for design review and comments.
- Collaborate with the vendors, suppliers and third parties for shop drawing, verification and validation record review, comment and submission.
- Collaborate with Designers and Installation Coordinators to expedite approvals and resolve technical conflicts.
- Manage and track progress of Electrical (PS&D) and Systems related Request for Information (RFI), Field Change Request (FCR), Design Change Notice (DCN), Systems Change Request (SCR) and Field Modification Instruction (FMI) implementation and its record in Procore (Project Electronic document Management Systems).
- Follows up on documentation design approvals to avoid construction activity schedule impacts.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for Systems integration, Testing and commissioning activity and notification.
- Maintain and keep up to date Procore systems for electrical redline markup and record documentation.
- Provide assistance to users in accessing electronic information.
- Assist Systems configuration items and Quantity review and submission.
- To assist in Systems design deliverables status update, Verification and Validation (V&V), record drawings coordination, and Systems handover process.
Experience/Qualifications:
- General understanding of the Systems design and installation processes and Quality Management.
- Engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience related to electrical systems (PS&D).
- Ability to read and understanding technical report, specification and design drawing and documents for electrical systems.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality results and ensuring that the agreed budget and schedule are within the framework.
- 2-3 years’ experience in an environment of design and construction of electrical (PS&D) projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software and experience in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, Procore, Aconex and ClearQuest will be considered an asset.

- Well organized, self-starter
- Able to manage priorities to ensure accurate, consistent, up-to-date and timely results. Muti tasking ability is expected.

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
