I have been working at Trendy Entertainment full-time (more than a year)Pros
The art team working here is exceptional and their work speaks volumes. To a large degree the art side of things at Trendy has little hindrance and is one of the only teams in the company who is truly allowed to push themselves and put a meaningful touch on the game.
Things have gotten a little better over the last few months but that is only because Trendy hit absolute rock bottom a few months ago.Cons
-When Trendy let 20% of the staff go they also decided to give themselves wonderful reviews on here 2-3 days before letting everyone go. These reviews just happened to be the highest scoring reviews the studio had ever received too.
-If I were to describe the overall environment at Trendy with one word it would be toxic. The toxicity of the company has gone down a little in the past few months but at any given moment over half the company is so afraid they will lose their jobs that their work quality suffers. One of the worst issues attributing to the toxicity is the way different teams communicate with each other, or in Trendy's case don't communicate with each other. I can't fully hold the people responsible for this though as the management, not the leads, but specifically the producers on the project will quickly shut you down if you speak out of line or hold to an opinion that differs from theirs.
-If you do not belong to the "IN" crowd than you are a vocal minority who has no say in anything at the studio. If you were to ask a majority of the studio if they thought their opinions were listened too it would be a resounding no. Many people I work with here chose to keep their mouths shut because they are ignored by management. Over two dozen employees at the studio have expressed a desire to leave asap and 5 already have in the last two weeks alone.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Listen to your employees and stop giving special treatment to those you deem to be good. Open your eyes and see that many of the people in charge here are running the company into the ground, you are constantly having to replace your employees because the people in charge here are incompetent and running them into the ground or kicking them out of the studio because they view them as an issue. You'd save so much trouble and money by removing the two-three people in charge here that are running the company into the ground.
There is so much potential at Trendy, so many extremely talented and dedicated people work here but Trendy will never meet its potential until a select group of the people in charge here are removed.
