I worked at Spencer Ogden full-time (more than an year)

High earning environment - many 20somethings are earning £100kplus
Great incentives - office in Ibiza and free holidays for top performers, monthly parties
Very funky company - astro turf floors, trading floor environment, blue-tooth headsets

It's hard work, but no worse than working for a Bank or a Law firm
Expectations are high, but that's one of the many reasons they are so good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I joined Spencer Ogden as a Graduate in 2011 and worked in the London office for 2 years until I went travelling in summer 2013.

In a nutshell this is a fantastic company to work for. They have a phenomenal brand and the training is second-to-none. I was put through a rigorous training programme, which definitely wasn't easy but I knew I was onto something good because friends from Uni were joining other Recruitment companies and had little or even no training at all.

Once I became a recruiter I was given a specialist market to focus on and although it was VERY hard work getting some client relationships in place, this soon happened and the job became a lot easier. You must stick with it and persevere otherwise it will not happen for you and will feel like a lot of work for minimal return.

The business does push you, but only because they want you to be successful and they want to be the global number one (their main competitor is 20 times bigger than them so they have A LOT of work to do!).

I earnt in excess of £50k in my 2nd year and this eclipsed all my friends that left Uni the same year. I have recently left to go travelling, but my job has been left open and they even offered me the opportunity to do part-time work in their international offices to help fund my travelling. I will be returning to Spencer Ogden next year and I can't wait.
