    I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work hours. A green web page. You might have good experience if you end up in the right department, especially in the areas the company is investing but this is rare. Wrong department (for example services) with obsolete products might end up being a nightmare.

    Cons

    Company culture does not align with the company values. Not much room for advancement. Lots of rigidity, politics, nepotism and intimidation for management style. Too much competition between people as well as departments. Macho culture of some old departments will not allow women succeed in technical areas. Inefficient. Some managers have mastered the art of looking good on paper, not necessarily in reality. So many business decisions are made through gossip and not facts. Some insecure people in power do not allow others grow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Promote people based on their skills not seniority or relationships. If you want to promote a senior person then make sure this person is trained to the level of requirements. Make sure the employees have the up to date tools they require. Allow employees pursue internal positions in different departments. Open the communication channels to everyone. Empower the introverts to speak. Some employees are in the same position for 40 years; move people around, don't let employees stay in the same position more than 3 - 5 years. Pay closer attention to HR practices.
