Former Employee - Sales Representative/Retail Store Manager in Amelia, OH (US)

I worked at Prime Communications full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get to be around technology

    Cons

Where to even begin? I honestly could take a few hours to list the extensive dirty laundry this company has.
Here are a few bullet points though.

-The biggest thing and what caused me to quit this joke of a company was I was on a vacation(which took me over a year to make sure it would get approved) a new hire employee (which also keep in mind was not hired by me but was taken over my head by our DM as you have no say in "your" store whatsoever, ended up stealing over $300 from a daily deposit then quitting. The next commission check after that date was deducted the amount stolen as I was the manager and ultimately "responsible for the mishaps of the store" the amount was deducted from my check. Now obviously my rebuttal was how am I supposed to be able to stop theft when I am gone from the store for a week, and the reply was its company policy sorry about your luck.

-Your checks are never correct and are constantly deducted for "charge back phones" but whenever asked for a detailed explanation or list of deductions they NEVER HAVE ONCE IN YEARS been able to provide any to me.

-Disturbing and highly unethical work and selling techniques

-You are micro managed to the bone. I honestly think the only reason they have a RSM position is to have someone to pin financial responsibility when things (and they do all the time) go wrong.

-Your direct and often even higher supervisors constantly talk to you in the most condescending manner possible, there is absolutely ZERO regard for their Employee's well being

    -Not to mention turnover

-I had 3 separate Districts Managers in a year due to their practices of moving up friends of people instead of talent.

-I ran a 200 box store with me and one other employee as staff.

-A 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 P.M. shift is almost an every day occurence and you are told to not go over hours whatsoever, but when you obviously hit 40 because we can do math and that is more you are threatened if you go over and the supervisors response is "Just be a team player and clock out and work so your store is staffed, because after all its a reflection on you.

-YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO HOME LIFE WITH THIS COMPANY
-Your emailed 40 times a day
-DM's calling you on off days to help run the district because they have a golf game or something another to go to

-As stated in many other reviews, you are givin the most outlandish goals ever to be seen Ex- I took a store that was doing 20-30 boxes a month and turned it into a 100+ box per month store by doing legitimate and my own selling techniques. One particular month I had a 300% YoY growth and my only feedback from management was why are you only doing a 100?

Word of advice- Don't try and excel at this company when you start o meet their insane goals, they will often give you a 50% month over month goal increase totally designed to not be attainable by any means which in case means unless you hit a minimum standard(which is also ludicrous) you are not getting payed commission.

HONESTLY AND I SAY THIS VERY GENUINELY, BUT AVOID PRIME AT ALL COSTS, IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD OF MY 10 YEARS IN SALES MANAGEMENT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU SHOULD GO BACK/GO TO BUSINESS SCHOOL

Your middle/high end management promote unethical behavior in their sellers and not only that, they praise it, see anything wrong here?
