    Pros

Looks good on your resume when you want to move on

    Cons

OUTDATED systems. Get rid of Lotus Notes and Windows 7. Contact Apple and get apps written that will better suit your business. All system platforms are old (PALLM? Seriously?). Old Boys Network still very much in play. The only way to get promoted is to be buddies with someone or be Indian. Too many jobs being moved overseas to "lower cost environments" like China and the Philippines.

    Advice to Management

Terrible management structure - restructuring certain departments is basically done annually. Too many meetings that accomplish nothing, other than waste your day. Old computer equipment, and terrible email system forced on JH by Manulife. Too much outsourcing, and then taking things back in house, and repeat. Bad communications - you find out about new policy or upcoming things at the water cooler, rather than through your manager.
