I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Smart people
    - If you perform, lots of autonomy given
    - No shortage of challenges
    - Good compensation

    Cons

    - Not a fun workplace. Everyone stressed due to multiple rounds of layoffs
    - Extremely political. Easy to get caught in the middle because of the always changing guard
    - Challenges never addressed at their root because that would take too much investment. So band-aid approach mostly. Thus, after 3 years, it will feel like the same challenges over/over again

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Pick 1-2 things to solve and truly solve them. There are SO MANY things broken that it's hard to pick just 1-2 but you won't get anywhere with bandaid approaches
    - HP will never be great if it is consistently doing round after round of layoffs
