    I have been working at Healthways as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    The thing I repeat most about this company is that the people are kind and that the environment is friendly. I feel like my managers genuinely care about me and consider my needs and understand my shortcomings. This, however, is a double-edged sword (I'll explain in Cons). The people I work with are very similar to me, I.E. they couldn't find anything better and they just want to get by and there are some pretty neat people here.

    Cons

    We are micromanaged in the friendliest way possible. If we go over 30 minutes of "break" time to go to the bathroom, we are reprehended. For a company that wants you to be living well, monitoring our bathroom breaks is not a good policy. Bathroom breaks are taken away from our two 15 minute breaks. Furthermore a lot of the kindness here feels very fake at times. While my mangers are very caring, I can't get a straight answer about when I will be hired full time. I've received multiple, "Oh anytime now" or "We're working on it" for the last two months and I've been here for almost five. I left a job I loved to work here and I hate the roundabout they play with me on this matter. Furthermore, the work is monotonous and there's no room for critical thinking or creativity. I know that this may be expected of call-center work but even "special projects" are just outbound calls that require only an iota of skill. They talk about advancement a lot as well but I've seen people on my contract that have been here for over a year and they're still doing the same work. I feel like even if I get hired here it'll be a dead-end job with no advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please do not micromanage our bathroom breaks and please have a set standard for hiring temp employees. Don't give us the run-around because we're human beings and we deserve better.
