I worked at GameStop full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

At first when I worked at GameStop (or EB Games in Canada), it was a great experience. You get to talk to people who play games on a regular basis which is awesome!

    Cons

Time off? Yeah, right. You don't get Christmas off. Sales expectations are high and there is NO room for error or your hours will more than likely get cut. No one treats employees with respect at all and the management doesn't get any training on how to be good managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The way it works: you start off as a sales position and work your way up by either being there the longest or being the most ruthless with your numbers (my Store Manager used to force people to buy addons they didn't need/understand for numbers or would put transactions with good "sales numbers" on hold for other employees he favoured so they would be able to complete the transactions).
