    I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Been in the firm for awhile now and it offers a great environment to grow in any dimension you are passionate about as long as you drive your career yourself and avoid doing just what comes. A sales driven culture that demands top notch execution, if you are not passionate about selling or fail at execution you are dead in the water here. The leadership team is great at driving the business forward and has continued to do a great job driving the firm forward.

    Cons

    It's a very exclusive culture where if your not one of them, your pretty much going to reach a ceiling quick. The firm does a great job running a sales and execution business but does a horrible job at everything else. Luckily, the partners and the engine they built are so good that the business continues to thrive just by closing big deals and executing on them successfully. They are trying hard to innovate and nurture a different culture they sense is coming but ultimately they don't get it. All innovation is top down driven, needs to look and feel the same as what the partnership has been comfortable doing for the last 10-20 years which filters out 80% of what innovation is about. The culture is still all network based (who you know and help is your currency) and if you look, speak and think differently you will stand out as an outcast despite how successful you may be. It's a partnership model that wants to build more of the same partners not more of something different and potentially better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you really want to grow and be innovative, you need to figure out how to support and encourage diversity in thinking and acting. Great things happen because of diversity, the key is alignment so you can foster greater autonomy.
