Current Employee - Test Scorer in Pittsburgh, PA (US)

I have been working at Data Recognition Corporation for less than a year

    Pros

I am interested in all things education, so even a chance to understand the grading of standardized tests (which is what I did at DRC) was interesting. Interpreting rubrics always led to some interesting questions. Unfortunately, scorers don't have much say in what the rubrics are. But the people were very friendly including Scoring Directors and Team Leads. Pretty relaxed environment too. Pay is pretty good for what you do. Pretty flexible with schedules, but of course they'll want people who are available for entire projects over others who are not.

    Cons

You sit all day aside from 2 breaks and a 30 min lunch. Simple, but monotonous. Plus test-scoring is a seasonal position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All Scoring Directors and Team Leads that I interacted with (even the new ones) were all friendly, but let you know what they and their managers wanted done.
