A good place if you can tolerate uncertainty

    I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb

    Pros

Marginal benefits such as on-site free gym, low-cost and convenient dry cleaner. The low-cost cafeteria has an excellent chef. You can get free coffee and herbal teas. Staff at the head office is in relatively small number, which can be a perk if you like your team. The company is relatively modest in size, so people still talk to each other instead of using emails 100% of the time. The health insurance coverage is great but the pension plan pay-out is below par. Recognition and feedback will depend on your team members a lot. During recent lay-off rounds employees were treated fairly as far as money is concerned.

    Cons

A feeling that the boat has been sinking for many years. The lack of major good news. The constant uncertainty about the future, which negatively impacts the employee morale. They recently majored the number of hours you must work in a week for the same pay (normal week went from 35hrs/w to 37.5hrs/w.) Communication is a bit lacking. You need to go on the intranet (which isn't super easy to navigate through) to find out about nominations and even job postings. When people leave no memo is sent. Senior leadership changes so much and so often, it's hard to keep track and evaluate.
