Bad company to work for. The only thing I learned was how I wasted my life here...life is too short to waste it here.

I worked at Auto Club of Southern California full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

If you shut up and suffer through pointless work, having good ideas ignored, idiot managers who don't know their jobs, back stabbing, you could have a job for life.....if you really feel like wasting your life like that.

    Cons

1.) They don't care about their employees
2.) Watch out for people who are too nice. They're back stabbers. It's trickle down back stabbing. It's a culture here.
3.) Cheap bastards. They screw customers, they screw employees, it's a greedy and dingy company.
4.) The buildings are dilapidated and rat infested. The cafeteria has been closed before due to rat infestation, and rather than meet this head on, the management does what they do best: deny the problem.
5.) Nothing's ever a problem here....until it becomes a PROBLEM. ie. Tell management over and over that failing equipment is failing, and they won't care until it breaks and everything goes to hell, but it's your fault even though they're the ones who prevented a fix.
6.) Nothing you learn here is good practice to take to any other company. Come here and your skills will rot.

Depressing place to work. No mobility. Stagnant, ignorant, self-serving management, miserable culture of fear, blame, and back stabbing.......do you really want to waste half your life here for a paycheck? There are a lot of other places you can work instead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

These people are sheltered jerks. The company is so depressing to work for - everyday is a miserable routine.

After I left this company, I ended up at a company that cares about their employees, their customers, their share holders, and the community. At my current company, I have time now - time to spend with my family, my hobbies, and even time to do local volunteer work. I feel better about my current company and do great work and I'm loyal. The autoclub was just something you go to get paid, and leave. It's a miserable place with miserable back stabby people, and working here was like being part a stagnant machine that goes nowhere.

I'm so glad I'm gone. What a waste of life, and it's a shame, because the company has the potential to be so much more, but it won't be with the ghouls who run this place.
