I worked at Ann Taylor part-time for less than a year

My co-workers (other sales associates) helped me get through this terrible time.
50% discount - still not worth it.

No hours when you first start out then as you "prove yourself" you start to get more if you for any reason switch managers get angry. Incredibly over staffed many people even work 4.5 hours and I've noticed some will only "Work" there for the discounts, only to hand their shift off to another employee. So many things go on behind the scenes especially in the managing department, managers are really unaware of how to successfully run a company as well as how to even manage. Always given tasks that management can't bother to do. Manager's play favourites and don't try to hide it. They also always want you in the latest crappy clothing - the material is terrible fabric and not worth the price even with the 50% discount. 85% of people hired last year have quit before the one year mark. Managers looked down upon you and try to show you up in front of customers. Very hurtful atmosphere, hated it while working there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to revaluate yourselves. How you conduct yourself behind scenes is just important as it is in front of customers. Please rehire management at this location and pick out candidates that actually have a clue instead of choosing the ones who know just how to act to your face.
