I worked at AlixPartners full-time for more than 3 years

    1. Very interesting and important project work for companies everyone has heard of
    2. An incredibly high level of engagement with the work, you, as a consultant are tasked to do -- the ability to lead and prove yourself at a very meritocratic firm
    3. Vast amounts of autonomy (could be a con for some)
    4. Incredible colleagues and a true collegial atmosphere -- many of them are THE experts in their fields
    5. Above market pay

    1. AlixPartners-y-ness: Culturally, either you will fit here or you won't -- there is little middle ground
    2. The interview process is difficult, especially with the psychometric tests that are administered (this isn't necessarily a purely negative thing but does make recruitment hard)
    3. Firm growth has accelerated over the past year with AlixPartners' acquisition by CVC... too much too soon may be bad for the culture
    4. Poor knowledge management... although it is getting better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're doing most things right -- make sure to groom the next wave of leadership from within as it will be superior to bringing in MD's from the outside in the long run given AlixPartners' unique culture
