Business Analyst Interview

Business Analyst
Lisbon (Portugal)

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Portugal Telecom in February 2011.

Interview Details This was an internal transfer so everything was made directly with the business unit where I was going to work in the future. after that, HR only deal with the administrative stuff. There are a lot of opportunities for internal movements within the company.

Interview Question – Tell ma an example of a situation where you had to overcome yourself. What was the result? What could have you done better?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation on salary. But us made in a very friendly and professional way.

Head of Department Interview

Head of Department
Lisbon (Portugal)

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Portugal Telecom in April 2010.

Interview Details Was referred through a college alumni, did a total of 3 interviews with an outside agency, a HR director and a few people I'd be working with.

Interview Question – Why I wanted to join up. It wasn't the most glamorous of positions, or the best of timings given the start of the economic crisis. I knew I was taking a gamble, etc.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Very little flexibility in terms of negotiation. It's almost as if they were stuck in the 80s, loads of meaningless "perks" that were clearly negotiated by the unions and had no monetary value. A word of caution: beware the "complements", they can be taken away if you're shuffled to another company inside the group.
