Declined Offer – Interviewed in Montreal, QC May 2009 – Reviewed Jan 12, 2011
Interview Details I got a few calls before the interview that was by phone. The overall process was OK and the salary offered was also OK. In average the process was very good.
Reason for Declining –
When I made the question about travel and overtime they told me that the company could send me everywhere. I got some info about people that works there that is very difficult for an Oracle employee balance Work and Family because constant trips. I got some bad news about lot of pression.
That was I've decline the offer.
Declined Offer – Interviewed in Mississauga, ON May 2010 – Reviewed Jun 14, 2010
Interview Details I first had an interview in Mississauga, Ontario, with 5 people (architects/product manager/developers) and 1 Director in person. However, the US recruiter had me interview for a position that I was over-qualified for. Next I was forwarded on to Product management group, where I had a total of 7 interviews (in person, and over the phone). over 5 months!
Interview Question – All questions were standard Answer Question
Reason for Declining –
No offer was actually presented, but I declined proceeding in the process. By March (3 months into the process) and 4 interviews, I mentioned that the process was already far too long and everyone was asking me the same questions over and over. I requested to see at least an conditional/offer so I can understand that there is commitment from Oracle and they aren't just fishing. We spoke about salaries and compensation, but the manager said he has to put it through some process and he can't agree to it. Rather they kept having me interview with more people and started asking me for previous income statements. I did not like this, because there was nothing concrete to what I had discussed with Oracle.
In fact, the original job description I received was at an IC5 level then later that changed to IC4 in an email I received - but this change was never indicated to me. I felt I was being taken advantage of during the process and my concerns were never being listened to -- which could be an indication of how this team operates and is not something I wanted to be involved with. I offered Oracle to provide whatever information they require pending a conditional offer, but they refused. In turn, I declined in proceeding. I should mention I was not looking for a job, I have a great one already.
