      Operations Supervisor Interview

      Mar 8, 2010
      Anonymous employee
      Naperville, IL
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at OfficeMax (Naperville, IL) in Mar 2010

      Interview

The first interview was over the phone. The second interivew was with the people I would be working with-in person. That went well. However, when I met with the actual hiring managers, I didn't get the impression they were very excited about hiring someone from the outside. I would advise someone interviewing with the company to get a clear understanding as to why they are looking for someone outside of the company instead of hiring from within.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at OfficeMax

      Interview

Applied online and received a call with some simple screening questions of retail experience. I came in for an interview and it was pretty standard. "Tell us of a time you've had a difficult customer," "tell us of a time you've need to meet a goal," that sort of thing. Went back for a second interview with the assistant manager and had similar questions, was also asked about my experience with planograms, my warehouse experience, etc.

      Question 1

The most difficult at the time was actually going onto the sales floor and being asked "sell me this printer."
