The hiring manager and the whole entire managing team is horrible. When I enter the office, two employees just playing computer games on the computer. And the hiring manager asked me some personal questions that is irrelevant to the job.

Job descriptions are accurate so make sure thats what you want to do. If not you can always talk to someone about switching job positions even to a different department or store.

You must speak up though if you feel some type of way about your job.

I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Kroger in August 2014.

    Interview Details

From Kroger webpage I applied for a warehouse position online a few hours later Operations Mgr called me and did a phone interview screening prior to formal interview with him and another team resource leader. Showed up for the interview and the receptionist was extremely friendly and welcoming. She even offered that she loved working there, Nicole was her name. Did not have to wait HR greeted me and we walked into a meeting room with 3 other people. Panel interview for a warehouse job was surprised initially, but then they were so warm and welcoming just figured that is how things work down here in SC, I am recently from Boston & West Palm Beach. There were 15 questions and some of them were indeed redundant. Too bad they could not of sent out a electronic personality test questionnaire like other jobs of this entry level. I was told on the phone all associates are hired at entry level. Even ones with MBA? (wanted to rebuttal that question).

Kroger asks you a bunch of questions like what does customer service mean to you? They are looking for someone who is open, communicative, and has good body language. Try to project your friendliness toward the hiring manager, make eye contact, etc.

    Interview Questions
    • Most difficult of the interview is when they ask if you have customer service experience or any situations that you had to someone you were serving. How would you respond when a customer is angry at you.   Answer Question

A lady contacted me on my cellphone and asked me to come in for a job interview on that day. I came in and she reviewed my job application with me (experience, qualifications, etc.). The conversation was very friendly and the topic deviated to more personal things. At the end of the interview, I was given a drug test. She said she would contact me after both the drug test and background check pass. I waited for 4 whole days and finally got a call back to come in for training. And that's how it all started.

I applied online. The process took 6 daysinterviewed at Kroger in August 2014.

    Interview Details

Applied online, the next day a phone interview with operations head, very personable and professional. It then took 3 days for him to arrange the others for the interview. I personally thought it was overkill to have a panel interview for a production job. HR person was very negative, while panel was asking questions (regular generic) interview she had her nose in the papers and looked up once or twice. Pretty negative..she was the other four gentlemen - were gentlemen. I wont even shop at Kroger foods= such a negative experience from that interview. I really wanted the job (overnight) and was extremely disappointed.
