Interview Details Several initial screenings and phone interviews. Invited me for a full day (9am - 4pm) spent meeting with a dozen or so people at all levels. Felt it went very well. Everyone was very friendly and positive and encouraging. Was very surprised when I was told I was not moving forward in the process, based on my experiences during the interviews.

Interview Question – Tell us about a gift that you didn't close and why it didn't work out.   Answer Question

Policy Associate at Johns Hopkins

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Feb 15, 2013

Interview Details The interview process was slow. I was contacted for an interview about a week after submitting my application, did a phone interview a week later, and interviewed about 2 weeks after that. THEN, they brought me in to meet the Dean but that was almost a 3 week waiting period.

Negotiation Details – They low-balled me on the salary, and I pushed back as I had another offer for more money.

How IS the Hiring Process Set-up? at Johns Hopkins

No Offer – Interviewed in Baltimore, MD (US) – Reviewed Jan 15, 2013

Interview Details After over 500+ resumes & job applications but never a call back or interview I am 100% confused with how JHHS & JHU handle the recruitment process. I could totally understand if I were applying for positions I'm unqualified for but that is so not the case here. I don't get it, am frustrated and am turned off.

Administrative Coordinator at Johns Hopkins

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Baltimore, MD (US) May 2012 – Reviewed Aug 31, 2012

Interview Details Human Resources person I was supposed to meet was out sick, and her substitute seemed ill-prepared to handle my appointment. Short skills test in MS Office applications was exactly as described to me ahead of time, and was no problem.

Interview Question – It was very hard to find out anything ahead of time about the exact job I would be interviewing for -- turned to be not a good fit.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – The department was not a good fit for me -- there was going to be a lot of overtime and irregular work hours on a seasonal basis, with heavier duties in the summer and no ability to take vacation during summer months (when my children are out of school).
