Store Manager at Dollar Tree

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Vancouver, BC Sep 2008 – Reviewed Jul 30, 2012

Interview Details The interview was very low key, yet to the point. The questions were asked in an open format with easy to answer parts. I was made more to feel like I had someone interested in my future than a new employer. This was a well trained, very experienced interviewer.

Interview Question – What did I dislike about my former employer   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation, this company has set rates for starting people in specific jobs. I had been persistant at my attempt to join the company, after four applications online, I got the interview and got the job.

Assistant Store Manager at Dollar Tree

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Sacramento, CA (US) May 2013 – Reviewed May 09, 2013

Interview Details There was a job fair for local Dollar Tree stores hiring all positions. First I filled out a standard paper application, then went in for the first interview. The first interview was standard questions like "Why Dollar Tree" and a couple behavioral "How would you..." questions. First interview took about 15 minutes. Second interview was with the district manager and it consisted more about me talking about my experiences and what the job entails. One week later, I got an offer. Haven't decided whether to take it or not, because the pay is atrocious. Barely above minimum wage for a management position is just wrong...but I need the job so I will most likely take it.

Cashier at Dollar Tree

No Offer – Interviewed in Charlotte, NC (US) Jan 2010 – Reviewed May 07, 2013

Interview Details I honestly got offered the job half-heartedly because I was being pleasant with the cashier who happened to be the store manager. I filled out an application and printed off a resume. My GPA helped her know I had the ability to do simple math. She sat me down for a 5 minute interview at the time I handed in my application. I started the next week.

Interview Question – Do you get along well with more elderly people? (No one under 30 worked at this store.)   Answer Question
