No Offer – Interviewed in Charlottesville, VA (US) Jan 2013 – Reviewed Jan 28, 2013
Interview Details The hiring process for this internship was through my campus recruiting system called CavLink. There was a resume drop early in January and then on campus interviews. I have just been through the first round which was only thirty minutes. The interviewer was a new associate who had been through their two year analyst program at Citi. He was very straightforward in a somewhat pompous way and cut right to the chase. There was barely any introduction before he asked questions about the market and what it is doing today and projects in the future. Typical questions included, if you have one million dollars where would you invest and then he would grill you on the ins and outs of that decision getting down to the governmental policies that helped you decide that choice.
Interview Question – The most difficult questions for me was when he asked to expand on the stocks that I would buy or decide and then the details of how each currency related to the dollar. I am not in our undergraduate business school so a lot of these questions I didn't quite know the answer to as I do not follow the markets everyday. Make sure if you are going into a sales and trading interview, know the ins and outs of the market not only today but what they are projected to be in the next year to 10 years. Answer Question
Other Details - I applied through campus recruiting and the process took a day.
