Interview Details
A quick phone interview got me to the in person interview which was the very next day. I showed up early, and was looked at strangely. I thought it was the usual to show up 15 minutes before the interview.
First, I was given a more in depth review of the position, then had two people interview me before being taken to the head manager for another interview. The questions were simple, and basically guided. They knew the answers they wanted, and gave them to me in their tone or in their words. It was a simple enough interview and everyone was nice enough. The process laster about an hour and a half.
Interview Question – what do you see being the most difficult part of this position? Answer Question
No Offer – Interviewed in Tinley Park, IL (US) Jul 2012 – Reviewed May 22, 2013 New
Interview Details Best Buy does not seem to have hiring the best applicant for the position in mind, at least in my case. I am 55, have 30 years of excellent retail sales and management skills and was simply looking to sell a passion of mine; high end audio equipment in the Magnolia Room. The first interview was with a substitute for the store manager. He was cold but efficient and asked pertinent questions. I stressed my strengths and skill. I also spoke of my salary needs and was told that it is out of line for their structure. I agreed to aquiesce. I offered no resistance. I received a call for a second interview and returned to speak with a second in charge of the Tinley Park, Il store. That went fine as well. It was with the second in charge of the store; it seems the manager was perpetually on vacation? Hard to say really. I never heard back from them. I was truly shocked. It seems highly unlikely someone would be more prepared to roll up their sleeves and give great service than me.
Interview Question – There were no difficult questions; the process and questions asked were straightforward and fair. I have no qualms about the interview process being a good one. It just may have poor outcomes for them, at times. Answer Question

No Offer – Interviewed in Benton Harbor, MI (US) Jun 2010 – Reviewed May 19, 2013 New
Interview Details They asked me a few questions, mostly pertaining to stealing. I guess they have some sort of problem with that. I was told that it was a 3 step process, and that I was on the first step. If I got to the second step, I'd interview with a manager. The third step was interviewing with the owner.
