Apple Mac Specialist (Apple Store) Interview

No Offer – Interviewed in Los Angeles, CA (US) Mar 2012 – Reviewed Apr 16, 2012

Interview Details So far I've had two interviews, the first one being the Apple Hiring Event and the second being a smaller interview. Many people have covered the Apple Hiring Event, so I thought I'd just briefly describe my second interview.

I was surprised to find that it was a group interview with two other candidates interviewing with me. Two Apple employees interviewed the three of us. We were brought out into a quiet outdoor eating area, and the interview itself was pretty relaxed and informal.

They asked us five questions that we all had to answer, and the three of us took turns answering the different questions first:

1. Tell us about yourself.

2. Tell us about a time you had to deal with someone arrogant and condescending.

3. Tell us about a time you had to learn something on the fly.

4. Tell us how you identify your weaknesses and how you change them.

5. What inspires you?

You're also encouraged to ask questions of the Apple employees at the end.

Make sure you've got some good anecdotes ready because telling an engaging story is a great way to make yourself memorable. I didn't hear back from them right away, so I emailed my interviewer after about a week or so to check on my status, and the very next day, he called me back to schedule my third interview. Hope it goes well!
