Financial Advisor at AXA Advisors

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Clifton Park, NY (US) Mar 2013 – Reviewed May 01, 2013

Interview Details The interview process was really straight forward and relatively informal. We E-Mailed specifying a time to meet and I came to the office where we sat down and basically just had a conversation about AXA and about me as a candidate. Really informative and open about the system. I enjoyed the interview because it was not pressured and provided me more of an opportunity to ask questions and get to know my interviewer and AXA in general.

Interview Question – No really difficult questions for me, we just had a conversation. It was less questions more speaking back and forth.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – I was looking for more opportunities that highlighted my skills and what I wanted to do. Competitive offer but not what I was looking for at the time.

Financial Advisor at AXA Advisors

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Apr 15, 2013

Interview Details Hiring process was essentially a breeze. The only thing the hiring manager cared about was if you could become "contracted". This means, once you are licensed, you meet a certain commission level to be officially brought on board. The level is fairly easy to obtain, but this type of business opens its doors to all. They throw everyone out to the wolves and see you sticks.

Interview Question – No difficult questions. It was just an open conversation about family, school, hobbies, and minimal about the company or industry.   Answer Question

Financial Advisor at AXA Advisors

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Buffalo, NY (US) – Reviewed Mar 30, 2013

Interview Details This is a drawn out process...at least three interviews. Relatively low pressure interview style. Get the impression that employees are DEFINITELY expected to connect to their natural market (meaning...call your friends and family). Advisors were friendly, and the office seems pretty busy.

Interview Question – Honestly, AXA did not ask unexpected questions. The process was almost too easy, which makes me nervous.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Must show why you add value or are worth more than "Joe" down the hall.

Financial Services Professional at AXA Advisors

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Mar 2012 – Reviewed Mar 26, 2013

Interview Details 3 rounds of interviews. The first one is mainly for them to get to know you, It involves a long monologue that includes description of the job, hiring, process, training process, and information on the certifications you will need to get before you can be a contracted employee. The second interview focuses more on the training process and how you will get clients when you start. The third interview focuses on pay and then they will either give you an offer or they won't.

Interview Question – describe a three pronged approach that you took to solving a situation and how did it turn out   View Answer

Reason for Declining – It's a great opportunity, but you don't get paid during the time you are studying for the certifications you need in order to be a contracted employee. You have to get your series 7 and series 66 which can take up to 12 weeks. I have to many bills and my loans are going to kick in right away. If I would of been better off I would have accepted the offer. The average pay within 4-5 years for this position is 80-120k.

Financial Consultant at AXA Advisors

No Offer – Interviewed in Columbia, MD (US) Feb 2013 – Reviewed Mar 26, 2013

Interview Details Four interview process:
1st interview was essentially a joke, they hardly asked me any questions about myself, mainly tried to "sell" me on the position. I may be wrong, but I thought you were supposed to sell yourself in an interview?
They then performed a background check and called me for a 2nd interview about 3 weeks later. I declined.
Interviewers seemed to be very well versed in the goals of their company, as I said, they tried to sell me on them.
Overall environment was very friendly.

Interview Question – All pretty straight-forward. They asked why I was interested in the financial services field.   Answer Question
