No Offer – Interviewed in Richmond, VA (US) Apr 2013 – Reviewed Apr 23, 2013

Interview Details Applied through linkedin. Performed a phone interview with someone in HR, and was directed to fill out an application online. It was for the small business, new business development position. A couple of days later I was contacted by the HR rep and scheduled an interview at their office in Richmond, VA. I interviewed with the VP of sales of Virginia. The interview involved your basic Why Sales? Why ADP? What do you know about the position? What is an example of overcoming adversity from your life? How do you feel about cold calling? How would you open up a sales conversation?

I was not offered the position because I did not have sufficient prospecting experience (as in I'm a B.A. with no sales experience). Or maybe they just said that as an excuse because I might not have appeared as enthusiastic as they would have liked. I tried my best.

No Offer – Interviewed in Parsippany, NJ (US) Jun 2012 – Reviewed Oct 16, 2012

Interview Details Applied via ADP's website then had an ADP employee refer me, email confirmation a couple weeks later, ADP sales administrator called me to discuss resume and to set up time with one on one interview with sales director, sales director in person interview, group interview in person with multiple sales directors. The in person interview went well, but they wanted someone more aggressive and experience with a quota requirement sales position. According to the sales director I was to meet again for a ride along and final interview, but I was notified via email that ADP will not be moving forward with my employment.

Outside Sales Representative at ADP

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Virginia Beach, VA (US) May 2012 – Reviewed May 09, 2012

Interview Details I had been contacted by a recruiter regarding the position. The interview went well and was passed along to a recruiter for the company in which a 30 minute phone interview was conducted. She approved of me and passed me along to the next stage which was a field ride which gave me an undertanding of the company. The next step was a 1 on 1 interview with the Sales Manager which went well. 3 days later I was contacted and offered the position and was scheduled to fill out paper work in the next 48 hours. The day of the paperwork completion the Sales Manager contacted me and stated they had changed their mind and want to go another route. I have never been given a job offer and have the company turn around and take it away.

No Offer – Interviewed in San Antonio, TX (US) Mar 2012 – Reviewed Apr 16, 2012

Interview Details I had a phone interview with the HR department which went really well. Then I had another interview with the VP of Sales in the Austin area that also went well and she referred me for a face to face interview in San Antonio. The HR lady that I had the first interview with then scheduled me for a whole day which was suppose to consist of an interview with two managers, then going out in the field with a sales rep and finally a role play/ask for job. I drove four hours for the interview and after the face to face interview they said thanks for coming in, we will get in touch with you. I told them I was confused because I had a whole day set up and they said I wasn't scheduled for anything else. I then called the HR lady to figure out what had happened and never got a response. I then got a rejection letter the next week. The whole thing was very unorganized and very unprofesssional.

Outside Sales Representative at ADP

No Offer – Interviewed in Irvine, CA (US) Feb 2012 – Reviewed Mar 06, 2012

Interview Details I was speaking to different ADP recruiters about positions in two different territories, the first was an actual ADP recruiter the other was a recruiter for another company who ADP outsourced to. The ADP recruiter was the most unenthusiastic recruiter I had ever spoken to. He did not seem interested in our call what-so-ever and seemed annoyed with any question I had. We spoke about multiple positions and I expressed my interest in them - and was suppose to hear back from him and never did. I tried to call his office number, didn't answer. I sent multiple emails, no response. The other recruiter who was outsourced was very friendly, very enthusiastic and easy to talk to on the phone. She sent me to a 1:1 interview with a hiring manager/sales manager, the interview required me to drive out of my way about 45 minutes each way, which I did not mind AT ALL because I was hoping that this would lead to a job offer. When I got to the 1:1 interview, the interviewer was late, unorganized and once he brought me into his office, told me that I was interviewing for the wrong territory and that he wouldn't hire me for his territory based off of where I live. The interview lasted all of 2 minutes. I understood that he wouldn't hire because the commute would be brutal and he said he would get everything sorted out with the recruiter and get me an interview with the hiring manager in a territory more suitable for me to commute to daily. I emailed the recruiter after and she said she would do the same thing. I never heard back from the hiring manager of the wrong territory or the recruiter. I tried calling her and emailing her and she never responded to any of my means of communication. I had heard great things about ADP and was very excited about having the opportunity to interview for a great company where I could work my way up and start a career. But these experiences left a very sour taste in my mouth, I found it very unprofessional to simply just ignore me. I understand they are busy, but it is very easy to send a simple, generic rejection draft they already have saved.

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Jan 2012 – Reviewed Mar 08, 2012

Interview Details The recruiter was very nice and courteous. Once I had done all the paper work and online tests I had my interview. Process only took about 6 days. On the day of the interview I showed up 20 minutes early. Then 30 minutes after my scheduled interview time I was called into the interviewers office. She had been talking with a co worker about there weekend. I was furious about waiting but sucked it up and the interview went well. I was offered the job but turned it down out of the display of disrespect.

Outside Sales Representative at ADP

No Offer – Interviewed in Jan 2012 – Reviewed Feb 10, 2012

Interview Details I applied for two outside sales positions. I have almost ten years of solid B2B sales experience with a track record of being the top producer on my sales team. This position would be entry level for me. My resume and cover letter are terrific, and my references are perfect. I even contacted the specific recruiters by email when applying to these two positions to express my interest. I never heard back on either - not a peep. I won't apply for another position at ADP, considering their lack of tact when dealing with applicants. At least have the professional courtesy to respond to an application, even if it's to turn that applicant down. I believe ADP is more concerned with a degree than they are with experience.

Reason for Declining – It's a great job with a great company, but I've done the door to door gauntlet in an internship before. It honestly sucks.
