I have been working at Yale University

    Pros

I loved being a graduate fellow at Yale. They pay graduate fellows extremely well, to the frustration of adjuncts. Students are great and resources abound.

    Cons

Non-PhD students who are offered the opportunity to teach should think carefully before accepting. If teaching is not a requirement for your degree, it can be a huge additional burden on your workload.

  3.

Work with Yale Reunions! It's fun and you get to meet a lot of interesting people at the reunions.

    I worked at Yale University

    Pros

The pay has decreased significantly because of Yale's budget cuts, but the pay is still decent for the kind of work. There's plenty of work to do to prepare for the reunions but also plenty of breaks to make sure it's not too tiring.

    Cons

Not much. There's not much to complain about.

I have been working at Yale University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Yale is a world renowned academic institution. Graduating from here provides an opportunity to work in good companies.

    Cons

New Haven is not a very good place for living. It's not very safe in the night.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the Engineering Department could be a little bit bigger it would be better.

I have been working at Yale University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

My experience is as PhD student:
Working with some of the most brilliant & innovative professors in the world
Lots of resources for advanced research in most fields
Great stipend and benefits guaranteed for 5 years.
Great academic network and alumni network

    Cons

As with other grad schools: it's very important to find an advisor you enjoy working with or enduring a long PhD program is difficult. For smaller departments, its important to find someone who is a suitable match before you apply.
