    I worked at Westpac Banking full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Lots of career opportunities. Westpac invest in their employees through thorough training and a great management team. If you're willing to work hard and efficiently then your work life balance can be fantastic.

    Cons

    LBB bonus scheme had many flaws however management are looking at updating this. Sometimes management decisions would filter down without thought of how they work in local communities and it is difficult to implement them.

    Have futher understanding about the Department of Compliance.
    Amazing experience to know how a monthly inspection policy made from laws and regulations delivered by the governent

    Need a strong background and sensitive feel of laws and regulations delivered daily.

    Good work life balance, plenty of opportunities, great people and culture, since it's such a big company there are plenty of opportunities to move between different units enable to to broden your skills, experiences and network.

    company changes quite a lot due to many restructuring

    Pros

    Westpac has embraced flexible and diverse work practices which make it a great place for anybody to work hard and achieve their personal goals, within their corporate and personal lives.

    Cons

    In many specialized areas the bulk of people are from outsourced providers which reduce the depth of experience one can gain and the opportunity for rapid advancement (again increase in salary as you are competing with a commodity workforce)
