    I worked at Unilever

    Pros

The office culture at Unilever is amazing. The people there are very genuine, friendly, and helpful. There are always events celebrating personal and professional achievements.

    Cons

The workload can be light if you're looking for a challenging and dynamic workplace. The business units tend to work in silos and there are some redundancies that really shouldn't exist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integrate the siloed business units so best practices can be shared more. Look into updating software so that people using them aren't spending more time waiting for their inputs to load than actually inputting information.

I worked at Unilever as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

I'm still in the early stages of my career, having just graduating from university in 2012. But I've worked for 7 different employers so far in my life from working part-time in high school, to internships, to contract jobs and then my current full time permanent position. And Unilever holds a special place in my heart.

Great work-life balance - While I was there, we were able to take half-day Fridays. I would get it around 9am then leave at 2pm each week, assuming all my work was done.

Fair pay - prorated annual salary of $40,000 for a co-op student.

Opportunities for secondment - if you're like me an like to travel, this provides some flexibility to travel and work.

    Cons

I don't have any complaints really. I have very fond memories. I know that recently after I left, the supply chain team was let go. So just like any private sector job, you wouldn't have the job security like a government job. But there's really no helping that.

I worked at Unilever as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

The people at Unilever are fantastic. Managers mostly keep to themselves and leave room for all employees to grow.

    Cons

While at Unilever I felt that i was given very little guidance. Although this was good for my growth at times, it became hampering when small problems took large portions of my time just due to a lack of knowledge or experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Become a little more involved with interns and entry-level employees. They are the future of the company and more than likely the people you will always be able to count on.
