I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Product Set is great if you are looking for a technical job this could be for you or if you are related to the senior management

    Cons

Seniors Sales Management has no clue
Employees are treated with disrespect , I have been working for 20+ years no company remotely comes close to how mismanaged this organization is
Mid management is breaking every role possible , law suites are piling up
Bullying is rampant and part of the culture
Sales compensation is never paid. for example if you close a deal and you get X amount of commission they will offer you 50% of what you have earned and a couple of new accounts no recourse .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop toying with peoples careers , get you act together, move focus from buying basketball teams to your own organization and its share holders . If you cant change that please sell the company !!
    Get a decent HR division

I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

When I was hired, the best reasons were potential growth opportunities and a well established team.

    Cons

No opportunity with the Vista transaction and leadership is oblivious to the internal issues. Culture is non-existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I left because I didn't feel respected or valued. TIBCO unfortunately let go of quality employees that were critical to business function and then as a result even more quality employees had resigned. TIBCO has allowed Marketing to lay the blame solely on the Operational side but in reality the issues are stagnant in Process and poor Project Management. Open your eyes and address it. You let the talent go and the people left are walking blindly.

    Pros

Lots of great non-exec employees, middle managers. Benefits are great. On site cafe has great food at a reasonable price.

    Cons

Nepotism, favoritism, whatever you want to call it..is rampant. It's not about the quality of your work or skills, it's who you know to get ahead. Senior marketing execs are clueless. Constant focus shifting, half-baked campaigns, and people with little skill steering the ship, from the CMO on down. No bonus structure to speak of. Merit increases are a glorified popularity contest, or you get offered one when you quit. Career planning amounts to waiting for someone to leave, and maybe you'll get that job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm pointing the finger at the CEO. Either the mess isn't seen, or being ignored. Either way, the blame is on his feet. Do something before all the good people have left.

    Pros

Honestly, can't think of one, except if you're looking for a place to settle down, and have no interest in work at all. The initial pay is too good (for the quality of people they hire) and work culture is relaxed. Work from home and off time is generally allowed.

    Cons

Generally awful people. Lot of B and C players in middle management, who are incapable of hiring good people, so the quality is going down all the time.
Apathetic attitude towards software ( because of 1st point).
No progress on career front. No objectivity in appraisal process, people-pleasing and boot licking rules over meritocracy. Perhaps the only company where mediocrity is celebrated.
    Lack of transparency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Introduce stack ranking.
    Trim the middle management fat.
    Promote people from within.
Hire better people, pay them better. That's the only way to delivering good results (not paying less, and cost cutting which is short-term vision)
Have more all hands, take in more questions from employees.

    Pros

Not a lot to be positive on...the pay was ok and reasonable benefits

    Cons

Technology and products are old and outdated as are the management. Sales and marketing was failing and now with VC ownership this is not a fun place to work with little or zero career options

    Pros

    Smart people
    Good products
    Good benefits
    Fair salary

    Cons

Vista bought Tibco ... what more can you say?

Just look at the reviews of other companies that Vista aquired.

It will go down the drain. They will sequeeze them out. The only place at this company is for people who own them.

Huge layoffs have already begun, ... further cost cutting wlll follow!

VIsta has a playbook that they execute. Just read the other reviews.

I have been working at TIBCO Software

    Pros

not sure there are any. TIBCO lost the ability to innovate years back and the stock started to talk. was acquired by a private firm who laid off a tom of people. focus is on getting as much cash as possible out without investing in people or products.

    Cons

lack of leadership, poor compensation, low communication, constant threat of layoff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep doing what you are doing, take the money and run.

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked in TIBCO India office from 2010 to 2015....
Good training ground for Junior employees, update skills for 2-5 years and switch to other company which provides better opportunities, professional senior management, better HR policies.

    Cons

Senior management CAN'T be relied on, they are mainly from technical background, if things don't work at business level, innocent employees are fired ruthlessly without proper compensation.

Co. lacks cross functional strategy and management. Those who can write code and design code are given far more importance than any other role in company....more and more code doesn't lead to business success but such architects and developers want to ensure they get all visibility and benefits, so they keep doing it over years.

HR processes are very reactive. Because Senior management doesn't consider HR as strategic competitive advantage...HR team is allowed to do only admin. work, no authority to decide pay, promotions.
Career planning and Performance management doesn't exists. Those who can create dependencies, get all benefits. e.g. Developers and Architects.

Some people perceive that CEO/CXO busy in hobbies and admin, clearical work than focus on strategic activities and dedicated execution.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    No advice...Good co. is sold....
