Aquisiton growth company, but needs great improvement

Business Analyst (Current Employee) Toronto, ON

ProsThere are several locations if you are interested in moving (mostly in the US, but globally as well). In addition there are several 'areas of interest' within the company (Insurance, Disaster Recover, Education) and it is a large so there are lots of opportunities available.
The benefits are decent, with company contribution to group RRSP, Employee Assistance Program in addition to Health/Medical & Dental.

ConsSungard grows by buying smaller companies - yet they don't seem to be very proficient at it. Back office changes are chaotic and unpredicatable, and communication is contradictory from one week to the next.
Incorrect first of the year payout, lack of ability to bring integrated staff into the online pay stub processing (the manual work around for paper copies leaves MUCH to be desired), conflicting/confusing travel coverage [for those employees that are consultants to clients]. Very disappointing for a company that grows by aquistion.

Advice to Senior ManagementDocument aquisition processes & adhere to them. Have at least one 'specialist' (project/program manager) to oversee integration with milestones, targets etc to make sure that there is a single point of information flow.

Great place to work in at the start of your career with excellent work life balance and opportunities. Fairly flat organ

Project Consultant (Current Employee) Oxford, England (UK)

ProsA fantastic place to start your career and learn from one of the most highly skilled staff in the industry. Great opportunities to pick or choose the work that you would be interested in and given responsibilities straight away. Good work-life balance with flexible work times as long as you finish the tasks assigned on time.

ConsBenefits don't tend to go up with the amount of experience you gain. Depending on which segment you are on, there is little opportunity to go to different products, move up in the organisation and expand your horizons.

    Good company but watch out

Sales Executive (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

Pros- In many ways a social environment with flexible hours
    - There are some very strong products within the company which can sell well.
    - Good company to work for if you like a strong sales environment, if you don't and want to build longer term client relationships SunGard can be challenging.

Cons- First and foremost a very sales orientated organisation. Which doesn't need to be a bad thing, but as of late it has become sales for the sake of sales without the necessary development in the product and this is bad. Whether this has historically always been this way, I do not think so but for the last 2 years this has definitely been reality.

Advice to Senior Management- Don't lose yourself in quarterly targets, this is very dangerous for SunGard but most of all the clients. To achieve the best results for clients targets should be flexible over a 1 to 2 year period.
    - Don't be afraid to axe managers who are fundamentally ill equipped to handle their position.
    - Create a more open environment where all are capable of voicing their concerns.

    5. Flexible job timings.

Cons1. Due to high packages, u may face problems due job change.

Advice to Senior ManagementGreat support from managers...!!!
