    Great place to learn!

Financial Services Intern (Current Employee) North Aurora, IL (US)

ProsGained experience and exposure to what the insurance business was all about. Had a great team and enjoyed going to work for the most part. Some good skills to add to your resume.

ConsTeam members aren't always perfect at agencies. Low pay as an intern. Felt somewhat dead end if you don't want to go the agent route or move to Bloomington.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay team members more, other than that you do a fantastic job. I don't know a lot about the management culture at corporate.

    Good Company, Need Better Focus

Intern - Hourly (Former Employee) Columbus, GA (US)

    Pros-Promote quality interactions with clients
-Focus on strengthening company from within the agent's office
    -Good benefits

Cons-Not enough underwriters/service workers in the Alabama/Georgia area
    -Poor communication within the company
-The "agent centered" mindset is not up-to-date

Advice to Senior ManagementHelp agents grow by allowing them to excel at what they do best in their market- selling Life Insurance isn't everything.

Overall great experience and one of the best insurance providers to work for. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

    Intern (Current Employee)

ProsGreat people, products and values. Excellent hours and management takes care of their employees. Really feels like co-workers are a family.

ConsAgent is rarely ever physically in the office, which can frustrate clients.

Advice to Senior ManagementRegulate agent hours and provide better training opportunities.

    Great People

    Summer Intern (Former Employee)

ProsPeople are incredibly willing to help you and answer your questions. I was an intern there and was able to reach out to people from all over and from all levels of the company.

They are willing to let you learn new things. I am an English major but was given the opportunity to make a web page for the internal site

ConsMy second summer interning at State Farm wasn't as great because I was not given meaningful projects to work on.

Overall, it's been a great experience.

Marketing Intern (Current Employee) Chambersburg, PA (US)

ProsVery nice people, decent hours (9am to 4 or 5pm), I am able to work on what I want to work on throughout the day with the help of any of the office staff when I need them.

ConsLower hourly rate than what I would like, office staff is not getting commission for any of their sales, the agent gets all of it which I think is not very fair (but it does not really affect me, I just feel bad for the ladies putting in all the work)

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage agents to commission their staff.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
